Location: 107 metres to the salt pans, 200 to the sea
Solna 59 stands in the Malkoto Ezero area of Pomorie — on the narrow strip between the Pomorie Salt Lake and the sea: 107 metres to the working salt pans and 200 to the sea. Burgas Airport is 10 km away, Burgas itself 20, Sunny Beach 18.
What is around
The Salt Museum is 250 metres away — the only museum in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe devoted to producing salt by solar evaporation, opened in 2002 and one of the hundred national tourist sites; 20 decares of working salt pans belong to it. The visitor centre of the Pomorie Salt Lake is 260 metres away, a food shop is on the neighbouring plot, and Knyaz Boris I Street with the buses to Burgas is 170 metres away. The old town with its church and fishing harbour is a quarter of an hour on foot.
Why the view will not be built over
The block falls within the protection zone of the Pomorie Salt Pans, a cultural monument of national importance. The regime allows only low-rise building here, with a cornice up to 7.50 metres, and every design must clear the Ministry of Culture. That is a monument protection regime, not a promise from the developer — no tall buildings will appear between you and the water.
The lake people come here for
The Pomorie Salt Lake is a hypersaline lagoon, twice as salty as the sea. Salt is produced in its basins the Anchialos way, by solar evaporation of sea water, as it has been for twenty-five centuries. The liman mud from here is used for medical treatment, and the lake itself is a protected area and a stop on the Via Pontica, the second-largest bird migration route in Europe, with more than 260 species.
